Carmen Sasso produces artwork born from dreams, associations and intuition. Sasso keeps a Jungian based dream journal from which he documents ideas for both sculpture and paint. His work is in part abstract to utilize natural elements such as gravity, and retains an aspect of realism to share a narrative. Sasso understands that the Universe has no center allowing him to begin the unruly creative process from anywhere. He will then incorporate a bold frame to harness aesthetic chaos into a semblance of order. He appreciates simple but sound construction, and employs colorful, easy to use materials. As a licensed mental health professional, with formal training in counseling psychology, Sasso tends to think critically about art as human experience. He also acknowledges that art is a by-product of pure thriving energy that needs no particular reason to exist.
